Tajikistan, China, and Kyrgyzstan

I am planning a trip to Tajikistan, China, and Kyrgyzstan (in that order) from June-July 2022. Given the vagaries of travel in the Covid era, I am working on a few route options, but my ideal path would go something like: Dushanbe-Khorog-Murghab-Kashgar-Osh-Bishkek. This will mark the first time I have traveled to Central Asia since 2013, when I spent two weeks in Kazakhstan with the International Reporting Project.

I am also developing some story ideas that I hope to report along the route—a return to journalism after three years working production related to U.S. politics. If you’d like to follow along with sporadic updates from the road, add your email address in the form below.
